Baby Car Camping Essentials
Figured it might be easier to write this all out in one place :)
The KEY: KEEP IT AS MINIMAL AS POSSIBLE! We’ve found that in such a small space it’s better to have less :) Plus you can always run into town if you need anything.
But definitely bring all the medicines! That’s a must I don’t skimp on.
Day time:
Imma skip over the usuals (view my checklist here)
Outdoor blanket: perfect to act as a rug outside the car/tent. Doubles as a protective mat inside!
*Favorite: Pendleton Blanket
Mexican Blanket : we use these for everything!!
Rechargeable fan : just in case … depends on the weather
Bag of toys: grab any toys that are easy to clean and dust off.
Silicone bib for easy cleaning.
Optionals:
For The littles that can’t walk yet: try this activity table
Any baby carrier
Night time
The goal is to keep the same schedule you do at home. IE bath, book, bottle …
Tub: perfect for bath time. Fill with a couple inches of water. Then heat up some in your MSR/Jetboil to mix for the perfect temp.
Collapsible Tub - love this one for home to bc it hangs to dry and stores away 🤍Don’t forget to pack a towel!
Pajamas:
If it’s below 60° inside: this baby Morrison sleeping bag/sack is great! They have multiple weights.
Warmer weather: Try a fleece bunting for warmer camping. Also good as a layer for snow days.
Sleep area:
Snuggle me Organic (infant): You can set this up anywhere. Takes up way less space than a crib. But not great if they can crawl and move on their own.
For formula fed babies: a Hydroflask thermos to keep your water warm for night feeds will save you the headache. Just preheat right before bed. Faster than a bottle warmer.
